Artemis; Melbourne hard trance scene's newest female resident – Sept 2006

"We all know the Melbourne hard trance scene is slightly lacking when it comes to top quality female DJ’s. So when one of Canberra’s top DJ’s/promoters decides it's time to move onto bigger and better things and make her new home Melbourne, I thought I'd take the time out to ask her a few questions so we could all get to know her a little better."

Elation: Feat. Olly Perris (UK) @ Red Gecko – Sept 2005

"Artemis came on after Olly and kept the dance floor going nuts as she always does. She never ceases to amaze me with her track selection, I only wish I saved some energy to get up and dance because she played some really great tunes. If there's one thing about Artemis, it’s that you can trust in her to get the crowd going or continue to keep the crowd going nuts."

Artemis - Hard Worker – July 2005

"With a background in classical music and a penchant for punk and rock, it seemed highly unlikely that Ruth Robertson, otherwise known as DJ Artemis, would trail down the unpredictable path of dance music. However it is in her inquisitive nature and her hardworking temperament that Robertson has managed to secure her position at the forefront of the Canberra hard dance scene; gaining respect as a DJ as well as an events promoter. ITM’s palu investigates"

Space: It's a girl thing @ Red Gecko – April 2005

"Artemis is one of Canberra’s awesome local DJs, with massive talent and dedication to what she does. The passion she has for music, and playing the crowd really comes through, and I find her sets to be very infectious. It doesn’t matter what she is playing, or where, the energy is as loud and powerful as the music, and I can’t help but get drawn in as the outside world gets washed away. I may not always get up and dance, but it definitely makes me feel and move with the music. A true master, Artemis is able to inflict happiness regardless of the theme."

Ruth Robertson - Wonder Woman – April 2004

"Since 1999, Ruth Robertson, aka DJ Artemis, has come a bloody long way in the Canberra dance scene. From humble beginnings, she has become one of Canberra's most talented and sought after DJ's as well as a respected promoter and agent. She has put on many a successful party, her no-nonsense approach ensuring that they are a great success. There is no foreseeable halt - her unrelenting drive, love for the music and willingness to help is a perfect example of someone there for the good of, and in some people's words, the 'propping up of' the Canberra hard dance scene. There is no doubt that she will continue to rise as both a DJ and promoter, with big things coming in the near future."

Lucien Foort @ Babylon – May 2003

"5.30am is usually the time when clubs are ready to close up, clubbers are crawling home and the sun is coming up, not this time. After a blinding run of sets in the front room Artemis had a big job ahead of her. In possibly the biggest set of her life she continued Archie stylee, playing to a still packed dance floor at a crazy 7am. Closing out with a big room track, she had the crowd screaming for an encore, and how could she resist. An amazing effort, holding the crowd right through til the sun came up. Without a doubt this was one crazy night, an awesome international like Lucien, matched by locals and an ex-pat, like Artemis and Archie"

Blank & Jones @ Babylon – November 2003

"Following the headlining act is always a tough gig to pull. Artemis did it in style though by completely ignoring the trance theme that had thus far dominated the main room. Instead, she pulled out an unbeatable hard set. Usually the dance floor at Babs begins to clear at the 4.30am mark, but this set kept people stomping. My legs had forced me to find a couch by this stage, but I was very pleased to see the crowd go wild during this final set."

Tiesto @ Holy Grail – December 2003

"Ollie and Artemis finished off the night with a slightly harder feel, but still not pushing the boundaries too far for a trance night. Ollie’s first track, which I’m led to believe he wrote himself, was an absolute rocker of a tune that revived slowing punters, and brought a few more feet to the dancefloor. These two did what they seem to do best, and kept the party going steadily till daybreak. Given a headlining timeslot, both Ollie and Artemis could easily make a night worthwhile. It is a good thing that I couldn’t pick any of their tracks, as it made the last hour I was at the Holy Grail a highly enjoyable one."
